What is the pacific games?
I was at the catholic jubilee (my school forced me to go). I was one of the
41000 who went by bus. During the 1.8km walk from the bus stop to the
station, we passed the rail line, where trains were running every two
minutes crammed full of students. CityRail apparently used 29 trains for the
39000 who arrived by rail.
The 2000 jubilee was an olympic test event. It was the first time a
substantial crowd was at the stadium during working hours, and the first
time that the performance and co-ordination of the ground level was tested.
It was reasonably successful.
On the subject of the train shortage, it is here that I step up my "bring
back the U boat" campaign!!!
