No Ben, TRN did not say that. What we said was that the cab was SIMILAR IN
STYLE, not that it was the same (i.e. it will have a full width low nose
with rear access). It is much more likely to be visually similar to the cab
on Tranz Rail DXR8007, although hopefully the design will not be quite as
severe as Tasrail do not have the same loading gauge restrictions as Tranz
Rail.
The long hood of the D locos has adequate space for the dynamic brake above
the generator. It is a reasonably spacious body compared to some of the
other EMD designs where the equipment is literally squeezed in - compare
the different body sizes of a DC and a QR for example where the same
equipment is housed.
