ST 1 the down overnight XPT came to a halt near Illalong creek ( Yass -
Harden section ) with a ruptured fuel tank on XP 2016, some form of
patch was used to seal the rupture and the train proceeded to
Cootamundra where a road tanker drained the rest of the fuel, No 1
eventually arrived at Junee at 0725 with XP 2016 the lead loco shut
down, the train is to run to Wagga Wagga where buses will be used to
convey the passengers to Melbourne, hopefully repairs and refuelling
will be completed in W W in time for the return working this afternoon
