This is hardly earth shattering news but it appeared in the local paper this
morning. FYI

Tranz Rail pulls off Aust coup
Tranz Rail has just completed a trans-Tasman coup, refurbishing 12
Australian locomotives and re-selling them back across the Tasman. The
company bought 35 second-hand Australian locomotives between 1995-98, 10
from Western Australia and 25 from Queensland, as a result of the
privatisation of railways there.
Tranz Rail spokesman Mike Booker said the diesel electric locomotives were
refurbished as part of a deal with Australia Transport Network, in which
Tranz Rail is a shareholder. He said they got the contract because Tranz
Rail had the expertise to do the work.
