Subject: B80?
Aus loco discussion mailing list
I have heard some suggestions
that B80 is to be repianted into "Southern Pacific" livery for use on Tailem
Bend service. Is their any truth to this or just another wild story? Cheers.
Bob.
On a visit to West Coast Railway at Ballarat
East earlier in the month, B80 was indeed in the workshop, and had been
fired up for the first time in ages the week before. AFAIK the intention is to
assess it's servicability, and if all goes according to plan have it running
an Adelaide to Tailem Bend tourist.
Also of interest given all of the Bulldog talk of
late is B61's service record, up to 6,774,249 km as at 1 November, and
representing nearly 480,000 km with WCR. B76 had reached 6,021,653 km. Watch
out GM1!!
Regards,
Russell
