Kodak lost some slides for me too.  It was in 1989.  The two films that they
lost for me were: Flying Scotsman's last day running in Australia (many nice
shots on Cowan bank, at Gosford blah blah blah) and an "official record" of
Charlie Morris's last day on steam before he retired (driving 5910.)

For the Scotsman roll, Kodak tried me out with two different films.  The
first one was someone's holiday in Qld including flying over the
Whitsundays, the second one was of Ws & Dd-592 in Perth & Fremantle.
Needless to say, I was not impressed.
