Re: 421 class Liveries
Aus loco discussion mailing list
Bob,
As others have expressed interest, I'll also respond to the list -
Surviving 421 class - liveries :
42101 - Candy
42102 - Tuscan? ( not sure)
42103 - Southern Cross Express, green and cream
42105 - NRR Yellow/Blue
42106 - Was Candy, now undercoat
42107 - NRR Yellow/Blue
42109 - NRR Yellow/Blue
Of the scrapped units, 42104 was painted in the "reverse" tuscan livery, the only one of the class in this scheme. I also recall seeing a photo somewhere of this loco in a prototype form of the reverse livery, with very thin lines, but I'm not sure if it ever ran this way in traffic. 42108 finished service in candy, I'm not sure about 42110, but I think it stayed tuscan to the end.
Corrections welcomed.
Regards,
Paul
