Subject: 421 class

Aus loco discussion mailing list

I have been asked if I can find answers to the following queries.
If there are any takers could you please reply direct to me.
Thanks in advance
Bob

1) How many 421's are there still in existence.
2) Numbers of same, if in working order or cannabalised, and present
location.
3) Where and when were the others scrapped.
4) What are the surviving units used for.
5) Present liveries of the surviving units.
6) Did any one photograph them when they were working in the West in
1969/70.
Why were they sent west, were they allocated to Parkes depot (I suppose
so),
and were all 10 units there at the same time.
7) Actual dates they were sent to and from the west.
