On the weekend l ventured to Adelaide for the Port Dock tour to Port
Augusta. Below are a few things of interest that were sighted on the trip.
At Dimboola, the SACBH silos are well underway, they are located on the
south side of the line adjacent to Dimboola loop. This afternoon it
appeared as though the gang may have been working on associated trackwork
for this.
Port Augusta tour ran with CLP14 in ASR livery.
At Port Augusta workshops GM28 was seen painted Maroon and Silver. 603 and
607 are stripped and are in the process of being overhauled. ( they
should look interesting in ASR livery). Four of the GN GM's are sitting on
the ground in varying degrees of cannabilisation. Does anyone have the
numbers of these?
Also seen were a green DL and the DA from the Port Ade accident still
looking severley broken !! ( to quote Peter Kilburn )
MP 9 SCT rolled into Port Augusta at 1735 with ALF23-CLP13-CLP10
Green-ASR-Silver. with 74 veh. Follwed shortly after by AP 4 with
ALF19-CLF3-CLP11 Green-ASR-ASR. Next was MP 5 with NR-AN8 (NR Livery)-NR,
at approx 1825.
This morning saw AM2 wite the 3 G's (see earlier posting). This train was
numbered AM2, even though it did look more like an AM4, with the Toll
loading on it.
Hope you find some of this of interest.
