It was MS3 that derailed at about 230am the leading bogie of the second last
truck came off the road. That would have been a simple job except it travelled
for quite some distance before it was stopped.
It depends who you belive as to how far it went derailed. I have heard reports
ranging from 1km-4km.
Initially they cut in Mittagong box to run Up trains wrong road Mittagong to
Picton, they cut in Tennesse and Bargo crossovers sometime between 930 and 1030.
The forecast this morning was for the line to be opened by sometime tonight.
3924 wheatie was held in the inspection road at Moss Vale(from 430am) then when
the crew went over hours the train was backed into the down refuge and left
there with engines shut down.
MS2 was worked to Moss Vale and stayed in the Up refuge most of the morning
3 wheat trains were stowed at Goulburn
Nearly all passenger trains were badly affected
the only freight trains that came through Exeter between 6am - 2pm were:-
2205 - 623 - 8165
2200 - 640 - 8153
MS2 - 728 - 8174
WP2 - 952 - NR 12+38+26
2250 - 1035 - 8165
MB4 -1055-NR 1+109+66+14(this was a combined MB4 and MS4 out of Goulburn(1500m))
PW4 - 1112 - NR72+114+??+117
2201 - 1250 - 8153
11 NR's on three trains, not bad except they were all plain colours
XP2013 looked like it was fresh from paint shops and looked good on ST3
On the south Danny
