An absolute fantastic trip, I have waited for
ages to cover the Adelaide Hills and the track from Gheringhap to Ararat in
Daylight and finally had the chance. It was quite interesting with some
of the accouncments on the train, from the train Mgr. on the Ghan, as we
crossed the Border, she stated that there was no sign post to look for and
that the only change would be that the track in Victoria is a lot rougher
and nosier due to wooden sleeper's under the track. and on arrival
at Spencer Street the accoument put over was,
The Overland service from Adelaide has just
arrived Thanks for travelling with V/Line. (The Overland
Service from Adelaide, funny the train at Adelaide shows the Ghan from Alice
Springs to Melbourne trust Melbourne to stuff it up) One amazing thing that
I noticed is that the Ghan ran express from Adelaide to Dimboola, (
WOW)
A couple of people were sighted at Belair
on Overland and also about 1420 on the Ghan taking Photo's
any one we know.?
A branch line was noted at Murray Bridge
heading off to the left as we were heading to Melbourne (just before Murray
Bridge) can someone tell me where this heads please?
Until Next time.
