There was a report of 6 DLs at Port Kembla late last week. I was told today that Clyde Engineering  in Newcastle will be maintaining the NSW based 81 and DLs for NRC in the very near future. It seems that the servicing of these units will have to be done at Cardiff as Freightcorp will not allow any NRC units to enter the Clyde Kooragang Island facility. Expect to see more DL workings to Newcastle in the future.

While driving down to Wollongong this evening, I passed two NRC liveried
DL's on the Dunmore working near Engadine about 1800.

So this makes five DL's in service on the Illawarra!
They may as well transplant the whole class to Sydney. :-}
