Re: Nyngan Derailment

The Nyngan derailment was a FreightCorp working comprising 27 wagons hauled by 48s 94/106/16. I assume that the train number was 8466 Ore from the Elura Mine at Cobar.

Coming home from a very pleasant but hot(36) family day downloading my emails coincided with the 1900 (WA)time ABC news in which an article was shown about yet another derailment in NSW.
Apparently 15 ore wagons came off the track at Nyngan due to track subsidence following heavy rain (send some rain over here- it would be most welcome).
Would this be a Silverton or Freight Corp working? Those subscribers still on deck may be able to cast some more light on this story.

Best wishes
