RE: Train operation; Loco rumours

What does CRT stand for? Or is it the combined rural traders that operate in
country centres and this will be used at a warehouse?

The first of the 73s was due to have been delivered to Yennora tomorrow. One
of the 2 will eventually be sent to Melbourne (Yes another foreign loco in
another livery for Melbourne!) and used by CRT down there.
Cheers

Evening everybody,

A contact of mine phoned earlier with several interesting pieces of
information.

Train Operation:

    * The Great South Pacific Express departs Sydney Central on Sunday 26.12

at 15.30 to operate via the Mountains and Coota. to Melbourne. It departs
Melbourne on 30.12.99 at 13.32 to return to Sydney again via the West.
Arrival in Sydney on Friday 31.12 is at 17.04. After seeing in the new year,

the train departs at 03.05 for the Hunter Valley and Brisbane.

    * My contact advises that 1327 (Griffith Speedfreight) now runs as a
separate train and is no longer combined with SM2 or SM3. He advised that
all three runs as separate trains on the Down. He wasn't sure about the Up.
SM3 picks up the 48 class and wheat loading at Henty before proceeding to
Melbourne.

Locos:

    * 7322 has turned up at Delec for some work (quite some work
apparently). It is painted in a special livery for CRT. When complete it is
supposed to displace X209 from shunting at CRT Yennora. He said that 7334
was to follow.

    * PL1 and PL2 are to depart Delec tomorrow for storage at Chullora.
(Maybe they are only going to DEMC for modification????)

    * A bit late I know, the Freight Victoria log train with the G leading
the X passed Belfield bound for Port Kembla last Wednesday morning 15.12.99
at 09.17.

I hope that the above is of assistance. Can anyone confirm the PL and 73
stories?

Cheers,

Greg Travers.
