Aus loco discussion mailing list
While travelling to the city this afternoon, the following interesting
trains caught my eye:
8005 and 13 NGMA wheat hoppers on the down goods line at Canterbury at
around 1:00 PM. Shortly before that on the up goods was a 43 wagon
freight hauled by the unusual combo of PL1/PL2/8007. My train paced this
one all the way to Meeks Road. The drivers expertly stopped their train
at the end of the dual track, to allow an NR service from Cooks River to
exit the single line. This train was hauled by triple NR's being NR
?/?/36. Minutes later at Redfern, as the train went by the old electric
car workshops, my attention was caught by the skulking combo of
4701/4486/X38 under the awning on the trackside area of the shops, near
the traverser. It appeared these locos were receiving some form of
attention, as there were a couple of (motor) cars parked near the
traverser. Hope this is of use
Scott
