RE: [Ausloco] Looking Back September 1975 (cont)

"Central-Ipswich return 2355 and a set of ancient red cars which pitched and swayed everywhere. 2355 is possibly now operating in Tasmania, I am not sure of its new number. The loco was turned on the turntable using the air from the loco."

2355 became ZB6 which was the second (and better looking) of the two ZB's (the other was ZB9) to get a mini-rebuild (as opposed to QR's 'maxi-rebuilds'). After the rebuild, it became ZR2 & was named "Audrey Mills A.N.R.C. 1997". Now, it is ATN 2101.

"It was incongruous seeing mainline trains heading down the middle of a busy street with the fireman hanging out the window ringing a bell. ( what did the fireman do in wet weather?)."

He got wet!
