             Sorry for the pre-emptory tone. I hit the 'send' button by 
mistake before putting the ful message together, namely:
Here's a challenging information request for the steam fans:
 What was the bigggest heaviest freight locomotives in use to cross the 
'mountain 
barriers' around Sydney(57 class)/Melbourne (?)/Adelaide(Webb Engines), 
and what were the best tonnages they could haul, both in the Down (up the 
mountain) and Up (down 
the mountain) directions ?.
