[Ausloco] ASR 422s

       ASR have confirmed through other sources that they have purchased
16 members of the 422 class. The full list is
42201,04,05,07,08,09,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18 and 19. I am told it is
most likely they will depart Werris Creek on Wednesday (sorry don't know
the time) and ASR have been advised they will be at Broken Hill on 16
May for onward movement to SA. The first storage point in SA is likely
to be Islington. 42210 may undertake some trial runs in SA shortly after
arrival.
      No contract has been let at present for their refurbishment. This
will follow after the condition of all the units has been fully
evaluated. It may also be that not all are rebuilt. Initially ASR are
talking about getting eight active units form the sixteen.  42210 and 19
are confirmed as operable and will be used to deliver the whole lot.
