A "Power Parade" existed in
Echuca Vic. yesterday as no less than 9 locos were present in the yard prior to
the commencement of the workings which start the weeks' cycle.
G514 did the Deniliquin NSW job
yesterday and returned to Echuca with a long grain consist as well as the usual
con-flats of bagged rice for export. Because of the extra shunting and the need
to run the extra distance into Deniliquin yard proper to collect the grain
loading, G514 dep. Echuca around 1115 hrs instead of 1300 hrs. Upon returning to
Echuca yard around 1700 hrs, it was met by X34 + G516 + X32 + X51 + X42 + T392 + the "Tonny Tangle"
pair, G523 & X39. As reported previously, G523 was on freight bogies
and X39 was complete - both were part of the load on last night's 9084 (via
Bendigo & for the foreseeable future) to Melb. hauled by G516 + X32 + X51.
9084 was away @ 2015 hrs.
Prior to
9084's departure, G514 + X42 + T392 departed southward with 9280 grain `extra' at 1830
hrs.
