RE: [Ausloco] 3801 trips
The mayor of Cowra was on the local TV news two or three fridays back,
complaining about the lack of rail traffic on the re-opened
Blayney-Cowra line. The report stated that nothing had run since the
opening (I don't know too much about it, so can't verify that). The
manager of a business along the line was also interviewed and his
statement was along the lines (no pun intended!) of "it's too much
bother and mucking about to transfer loading from truck to train, and
back again at the other end". No mention of damage to roads, etc. I
love the attitude (not!).

Typical RAC cutbacks. The reopened line was supposed to be able to take
NRs.
The motive for reopening the line was to get freights out of Sydney
during
the Olympics.
