Re: Botany and Cooks River 29/3

The NR's would have come off BS2, which is often over the load for 2 NR's (2600t). These locos nowadays don't return to Chullora, but remain working between Cooks River & Botany and relay onto SB3.

Another day at my favourite locations.
Botany was on the agenda first today and I arrived at 1.40pm (got off early from sport)
8139 - outside admin
8163 - shunting Botany yard
    2.00pm at 'F' frame (kelloggs)
NR's 116/67/35 on a container train - what seemed to be a very earlier seatrain and with 3 NR's, any reason for 3 ? I think there were 3 on Monday as well (NR 108/42/56)
8231/8253 ran back to DELEC LE after depositing a train in Botany Yard.
    At Cooks River at 2.30pm
4864 - shunting - sounding absolutely magnificent !
4486 - shut down in James's siding
1873 - shunting round MCS
EL61 - parked and looking rather clean - obviosly leaving on SM7 tonight.
One thing I've noticed is that the EL's are always facing the right direction to leave - any idea where they are turned - most likely the Roselle triangle - can anyone confirm this ?

Hope you enjoy, Chris.
