Now for the ST4 saga:
ST4 went through Exeter with only the front power car working(XP2004), the back one(XP2016) wasn't able to be started in Melbourne due to problems with the starter motor, hence the 140 min late running.About 20mins later Control contacted Moss Vale and said to hold SP24, which was still there, as ST4 was having engine problems at Mittagong. Apparently the power car could not power over "notch 1" so was moving at a snails pace. Bundanoon was then asked to get 9381, the FA wheatie which was in the down refuge,  to uncouple his loco and wait to see if it was required to rescue ST4 (Hmm would have been nice, a green G pulling an XPT set) eventually Mittagong was cut in and ST4 was able to get to the down refuge by its self. It took 10 mins to get from the down platform into the refuge!
9381 was not required so went on its merry way.  SP24 which had been at Moss Vale for 50mins now was let go with SN58 right behind it (which was built up to 4cars to accommodate ST4's passengers that spilled over from SP24).
ST4 left Mittagong (after 1239 had cleared on the down with 8035 at 0040) with the back power car now working after attention from fitters and the front power car light attached.

Regarding the ST4 saga, day 1,
Apparently on the 26th the Buffet car was detached at Harden due to problems unknown.
I don't know if it is still there.
ST4 was through Exeter 140 mins late

But after a 6hour wait on GSR trains I don't think Countrystink has too much to worry about yet.
