The push-pull would be used if coming to Wollongong to save time as the train would not have to go to Waterfall to run the locos around.

Hi Mike

Quite possibly there was another loco, although my V set was going past 
pretty fast and I didn't see. With the spur running downgrade onto a busy 
main line, and given the number of bushwalkers in the area, it would 
probably be safer to have either a loco or brake van bringing up the rear.
