I saw this train arriving at Spencer Street at 14:15 today (Wed), as listed
but had a power van of some sort as well.  Maybe a PCO or something.

For the people in Melbourne the new Latrobe Street bridge is good for
photos of train arriving/departing from the country platforms at Spencer
Street.  In the early morning (till about 9:30am at this time of year)
anything arriving is good, and the afternoon is good for anything leaving,
and late afternoon is good for the city in the background.
