What Martin didn't say was that a GM on 3AM3 failed at Mile End at 9.28pm
with the govenor continually jumping out of position. A Clyde mechanic was
called but as Tailem Bend grain train had left the Port Flat, it was decided
to take 701 and 704 off the grain train and put them on the back of 3AM3's
locos. I understand 3AM3 departed Mile End an hour later.
