EL 54, stabled on the Standard Gauge turn table at South Dynon loco is for crew training for Freight Australia employees. FA are hiring the unit, and a few others from CFCLA. It will work in the shafts on hook and pull SCT/TNT services. This is combined with FA's take-up of the Austrac MS/SM crewing from Dynon to Albury, which should be starting shortly aswell according to senior FA management. Not sure how many units are involved at the moment. Crew training on the unit begins on Tuesday this comming week.

FA have also hired unit EL 51 from CFCLA for use on the New South Wales log train services. This lease started late last week. The next weeks running of the services with G 522-EL 51 is:-
05/03/2000. 0035 from Port Kembla to Hume arrive 0650.
05/03/2000. 1600 Hume to Port Kembla arrive 0300 on the 06/03/2000.
07/03/2000. 0145 Port Kemble at Wallerawang arrive 0712. train number 9755.
07/03/2000. 2110 Wallerawang to Port Kembla arrive early the next morning.
09/03/2000. 0145 Port Kemble at Wallerawang arrive 0712. train number 9755.
09/03/2000. 2110 Wallerawang to Port Kembla arrive early the next morning.

The FA New South Wales grain train contract continues. The contract lasts for 3 years and when in full operation will involve 2 locos each working a block 20 wagon train. The wagon set and loco currently in NSW is not planned to return to Victoria at any stage yet. The next scheduled service is 9381 empty ex Port Kembla at 2030 running to YEK (modern computer controlled location code) Any ideas?? It arrives at YEK at 0700 on the 06/03/2000, loads and returns ex YEK on the 06/03/2000 at 1520 as train number 3982 to Port Kembla, due in at 0605 on the 07/03/2000.

There was a 2000 grain train (9188) ex Echuca to Geelong on the 04/03/2000 with locos G 512-X 44-X 31.

There will be a 1300 grain train (9080) ex Geelong to Bendigo on the 05/03/2000 with locos G 512-X 44-X 31-X 54-S 307.

There will be a 0300 grain train (9085) ex Bendigo to Echuca on the 06/03/2000 with locos X 44-X 31.

There will be a 1330 goods (9077) ex Bendigo to Bridgewater on the 06/03/2000 with locos X 39-Y 157. Returns as a 1715 goods (9078) ex Bridgewater arriving Bendigo at 1815.

There will be a 1330 goods (9077) ex Bendigo to Bridgewater on the 07/03/2000 and 08/03/2000 with loco Y 157. Returns as a 1715 goods (9078) ex Bridgewater arriving Bendigo at 1815.

9352 up Tocumwal (about 12noon ex TOC) goods on 06/03/2000 rostered as A 77 FA livery-A 71.

There will be a 2350 grain service (9391) ex Geelong Yard to Oaklands on the 05/03/2000 with locos X 32-S 306. Returns as a 1700 goods (9392) ex Oaklands on 06/03/2000 arriving North Geelong Yard at 0154 on 07/03/2000.

There will be a 1500 grain service (9124) ex Ultima to Geelong Yard on the 05/03/2000 with locos G 515-X 36.

There will be a 2100 grain service (9126) ex Mittyack to Geelong Yard on the 05/03/2000 with locos G 525-T 379. Arrives Geelong Yard on 06/03/2000 at 0901.

There will be a 1130 goods (9138) ex Cowangie to Geelong Yard on the 06/03/2000 with locos X 37-S 310.

There will be a 1715 grain service (9391) ex Geelong Yard to Oaklands on the 06/03/2000 with locos G 513-X 47. Return not yet planned.

There will be a 1315 grain service (9121) ex Geelong Yard to Massey arrive 1954 on the 05/03/2000 with locos G 513-S 301. Returns ex Massey on the 05/03/2000 as 9122 (2000) to North Geelong Yard arriving 1055 on the 06/03/2000.

9137 Norht Geelong to Cowangie goods on the 06/03/2000 at this stage rostered as X 33-S 301-S 307.
