[Ausloco] More metro goods action (30/5)

8 p.m. seems to be an important time for freight movements out of Cooks
River/Botany,as tonight there was a number of interesting sightings made.
At 8.13 p.m., lone unit 8035 was noted running light engine on the up
goods through Canterbury station, purring away until just after the
Canterbury Road overbridge, when the driver notched up the throttle to
produce that unmistakeable Alco sound. As the sound echoed out across the
Cooks River valley, lights around that same curve showed a train
approaching on the down track.
It was a container train, mostly empty wagons. However the motive power
was unusual, in the guise of 42203, still in its 'candy' colours after
all these years. More than ever, a true survivor.
Finally, 8174 (seen earlier today) and 8111 (I think) teamed up to haul
an up train of mostly empty container wagons through Canterbury at around
8.30 p.m.
