RE: [Ausloco] Re: ATN working, plus electrics return

Hi

Was the class leader. Is it still though ?

830 and 845 were retained by the STA, far later than the other 830s. 830 was
renumbered 875 in 1986 when it went to Tasmania, shortly after getting the
corporate livery and a double-skinned cab roof. It did a couple of runs
around Adelaide on work trains as 830 in the corporate livery and new roof.
Not sure where the renumbering occurred exactly, but 875 and 852 were the
last Tasrail 830s, working log trains on the ricketty-bridged Derwent Valley
line until 1992. 875 was sent to Pt Lincoln (Nov 92) then went back to
Adelaide (May 1994)- emerging as DA5 sometime in 1995. 830/875 has had an
interesting life.

Ben

the class was named in honour of the first loco - thus
