I know it's not quite a branch line working but in November 1987, X50 and a
930 both off the Overland worked light to Monarto South to pick up a load
off the Appamurra branch. The branch train was worked by a single 830 which
I think if I recall correctly went light back to Tailem. The X led the
loaded train back to Adelaide making for some nice shots. The trip seemed to
take all day...the grain was put away at Nairne and was run through by the
up Mt Gambier bluebirds. A shot of this was published in Newsrail magazine
some time ago.
