I have just spoken to a friend in Newcastle. He reported that the LVRF train to Sandgate arrived this morning (Thursday) with three green ELs and 4486, but he told me he took a photo this morning of EL51 & 4486 together. So i
presume that EL58, and EL62 may have gone to Goninan's for repairs or servicing.
Another interesting sighting although on Monday was the NRC coal train with 8121 and DL50 at Telarah yard at approx 7 am after returning from Stratford and awaiting to head west to Ravensworth. The first DL north of Newcastle
????. On this topic, I have heard a rumor that the ANs may be withdrawn from service shortly for possible upgrades/ painting. and they may not return to South Australia. To add to this I was also told that the NRC coal train may
be powered by 81s or DLs in the future. Double DLs on a coal train, I would like to see that :)
I hope this helps
