[Ausloco] Rockhampton - Gladstone Locos 12/6/00

Hello all,

4000 Class

It would seem that at least 8 of the 4000 Class locos are now in traffic -
4001 to 4008. Today I photographed 4003+4002 (elephant style) inbound from
Clarke to Callemondah - probably 9S02. It crossed 2209+2139+2150S(1,2,1) at
Stowe.

Ready to depart Callemondah were 4007+4006 (9Q67?). It crossed
2162+2142A+2203 at Stirrat and 2137+2189F+2202 at Fry.

Back at Callemondah loco near the Clyde shed were 4001+4004 (back to back)
and 4008+4005 (elephant style).

3900 Class

The number of locos remaining in the original green and yellow scheme
continue to decrease. At Rockhampton today, 3903, 3904, and 3910 were seen
in original livery. Others are 3928 - 3930, 3923, 3914, 3918, and possibly
one or two other locos.

3907 (original) arrived from the south with a long rake of stock wagons as
62C3 at 1620. By 1630 the shunter had advised "A" Cabin that 62C3 had been
tested after the change of loco to 2845 and was ready to depart for
Townsville. By 1637 62C3 was well down Denison Street. Clearly, 2845 was
waiting in the "Marsh" yard to effect the loco change, rather than waiting
in the ready road at the loco shed.

Cheers,

Bruce
