Re: [Ausloco] repaired locos

I better preference this as RUMOUR # 1587
I tried to find out from a mate at South Dynon, but he was uncertain. This is
what he said though...
"A 3500 hp Loco [Used] ex the U SofA is sitting in the shops. It is fitted
with an extra large base or sump, and in this condition it will not fit in a
"G" Despite this the Shops have been told to fit it into G523. Apparently
this is the least of their problems, but will probably eventually see the
light of day. The "X" is going to be a real problem, as their is not
sufficient space for the extra radiators, and talk at Dynon is that it will
be turned 180 deg and will probably cost much too much
to be considered viable."
One wag says they should save their money and up their bid for
West Rail.
Or at least feed the right Swiss Bank Accounts as every one knows how you
win Contracts in Australia! Just how much do you think our Mr.X collected
over here selling our State off?
