RE: [Ausloco] Fw: ben scaro & 830's aswell as NT's.
When I was in Alice Springs early this year, I asked the Ghan
Preservation people whether they regretted not having an NT in their
collection - they said the units were forever breaking down.

The 830 classes received sun-roofs when fitted with air-conditioners in
the 1986 to 1988 era. We also commenced fitting the 600's.
The last NT's to work on AN were the three on the EP. They were finally
cut-up when some 830's were returned from Tasmania. The NT's actually
worked a few grain trains and did work the gypsum train for a short
period. They were extemely good traction units.
Les Smith.
