[Ausloco] Bankstown Derailment NOW!

Things have been a little strange on the metro goods this afternoon. It
seems freight and passenger trains have been sharing the suburban lines,
which have screwed up Cityrail services due to trackwork, but apparently
there has been a derailment at bankstown which gave the wheel of chaos
another spin.
At Canterbury, the fun began at 1345, when 8139/8243/8137 came by on the
up goods with a loaded grain rake (GT9). My up cityrail service to
Campsie came, then we spent a period of time in front of the crossovers
at Campsie, while NR1/NR96 crawled past with a mostly empty steel train
at approx 13.50. The cityrail service pulled onto the down tracks to
terminate at Campsie at 13.54 (no inkling of the derailment yet). When I
return from shopping at 13.30, the termination of cityrail trains was
still occuring, with mention of bus services. 8129 was purring at
platform 1 with what looked like a very late up Ghan in tow. The Ghan
passengers will be even later into central this afternoon, as 8129 had to
reverse the train to let another cityrail service terminate and run back
to the city.
That's the story so far. If anyone knows what caused the derailment, i'd
be keen to find out.

Scott
