[Ausloco] Inner West observations (7/7)
A day off to help me prepare to move house gave me an opportunity to
observe some daytime traffic on the metro goods. At 14.30
8243(?)/8168/8169 came through Canterbury with a down empty grain
working. Watching the line of grain hoppers pass across the Cooks River
bridge showed a pronounced 'wobble' developing in the track at a
particular spot on the approach. No wonder there is a speed restriction
there !.
At 16.50, green G542 was noted at the head of the LVRF container train at
Meeks Road. The bridge over Fraser Park on the approach to the flyover of
the Illawarra/East hills/Bankstown line appears to be undergoing some
work (with a crane, cherrypicker and scaf. on site. Can anyone tell me
whether there will there be a shutdown on the freight tracks this
weekend, or normal ops. at reduced speed ?. Ta in advance
Scott
