Double 422s have been fairly regular on 1974 Bomaderry freight although I haven't seen it since 6/12/99 when it was worked by 42203+42210. This may not be happening anymore if they are being used on the BH pass.  
42203 was at Port Kembla loco on 11/1/00.

Alco unit 4514 is at Parkes in the Silverton compound. Are Silverton planning to us this unit ?
 
Worked WL33 from Orange to Parkes yesterday. 42203 leading 42220. 42203's paint job is very sad indeed. Test were being conducted yesterday to save fuel on the 422's so they could do the whole trip eg. Sydney - Broken Hill - Sydney on just one tank.
After Parkes 42220 was switched into idle. On the way home tonight 42220 will do all the work (as far as Parkes) and 42203 will be swithed off line. This same practice occured with the CLP's on the Indian.
 
Not sure how long the 422's will last on the West. The new air conditioning fitted to these units doesn't do a great deal to cool the cab down. We were lucky it was only a cool day. I can't imagine Parkes crews being very impressed heading out West in 40 degree heat with the way the A/C 's currently are.
 
Does anyone now if Freightcorp still use any 422's on freight services in the metrop - south coast area?
