No, 4201 went to Melbourne in October 1988 for the Bicentennial "Aussteam" celebrations. It accompanied veteran 4-4-0 1210 from Goulburn to Albury with a combined train, including several wooden sleeping cars, then ran the sleeping car portion solo in Victoria. I regret now not getting a few more shots of this consist, rather than chase the steam .

4201 was included in the loco display at Spencer St on the Sunday of Aussteam, and also hauled a lengthy collection of standard gauge locos (steam and diesel) back to South Dynon at the end of the day.

Cheers,

Paul

(btw, I'm now back from the o/s bash. Once again, the Sth African 25NC class has blown us away with 3417 providing an awesome display of power and speed leaving Cape Town on the Union Ltd - one of the best railway experiences still available anywhere in the world. )
