Locomotives and Satelites

Hello All

Trying not to seem off-topic, there was a question about a satellite knocked
out by a solar storm on this list some days ago, tho which I gave some
response having been a cabbie for some time. It has since been drawn to my
attention from some reputable sources that the first three months of this
year may see significant solar activity, and perhaps more than satellites
knocked out. Some of this can be read at

It seems modernisation of mechanisation may be in for a trying time.
