I'm recovering from a very hectic four day mission out to Dubbo to
record material for future volumes of "Diesel Diary".
Trains, locos and location(s) recorded are as follows:
Sunday 9/01.
8166; 4701; Bathurst to Lyndhurst. (the first train to run on the
Blayney-Cowra line since it was reopened last month)
Monday 10/01.
4853 empty ore to Blayney; 8176+4894+48117; Wallerawang.
WL2; NR109; Bowenfels; (blue out-of-gauge carriage attached0
1XS2; NR?; Wallerawang.
8162 containers from Blayney; 8113; Locksley.
9872 flour to Manildra; 8170+8173; Locksley to Tumulla.
2GS2; NR58+NR16; Murrobo.
8454 ore from Blayney; 8176+ 48117.
8136 freight from Dubbo; 8180+48156+8105+48119; dubbo to Guerie.
Tuesday 11/01
8821 empty grain to Nygan; 48140+48154; Nygan.
2NE1 empty ore to Cobar; 48s30+48s35+48s31+48s37; Nevertire to
Hermidale.
8822 grain from Nygan 48154+48140; Nevertire.
8882 grain from Nevertire; 48162+ 48123; Trangie to Narromine
8888 grain from Wellington; 8140+48+48; Dubbo.
Wednesday 12/01.
3EN2 ore from Cobar, NR99+NR60 (order reversed at Merrygoen) Narromine
to Ulan (this train took nearly 12 hours to run between these two
locations)

Weather was clear and sunny, train controllers and crews extremely
cooperative, and petrol expensive. A great trip with around two hours
of great footage "in the can"
