HBL58 and other stuff

Aus loco discussion mailing list

I just had a close look at HBL58 at Port Kembla and it now has HBL plates in place of the BHP plates on the cab sides. It looks like they have just attached a thin sheet of white painted steel to the BHP plates with HBL in black lettering and the company logo. The plates were removed and refitted after modification.
On the way back to work the log train was doing its usual midday shunt so I stopped to have a listen as the X class sounds like a real GM. 8117 was shuffling wagons for the NRC guys doing wagon repairs
Regards,
Chris.
