At the moment the log train is running on an as required basis. The
train stays out at Hume for as long as it takes to load (which is a
lot longer than the time allocated in the working timetable) and then
either stays at Hume till the crew change or works back to Harmen or
Queanbeyan. As soon as the afternoon Explorer from Canberra to Sydney
has reached Bungendore the train can proceed into Queanbeyan station,
remarshall the locos and then leave - depending on the crew, this can
be as early as 18.30, earlier than the working timetable states.
