Aus loco discussion mailing list
Enjoyed meeting up with you. I headed up to Whyalla on 30/12/99 and bombed
out badly. Nothing was running until late that evening. I decided to head
towards Kimba and backtrack from there, finally picking up NJ's 3/5/4 at
Darke Peak. I then headed for Lock and just managed to photograph
DA3/872/871 at Murdinga before they dumped their wheat wagons and took off
light engine towards Lock. Fortunately, I managed to get at least one sunny
shot of each train which, as you know, was no easy task with the continual
clouds that we experienced.
Next morning, I noticed NJ1+869+another NJ in Pt Lincoln loco. Did this
work the train to Yaninee? If it did, then I missed it. Do you know the
number of the last NJ?
I photographed the last train arriving into Port Lincoln for 1999 ( the
return of the Lock wheatie) on the morning of 31/12/99 but unfortuately the
clouds rolled in just as it was arriving.
If you could let me know of that NJ number, I would greatly appreciate it.
Hope we met up again soon.
Regards,
Mark.
