Hi Scott: Sorry, can't definitely confirm the number of cars but it didn't take long to walk past it if that's any indication.

Melanie,
You asked:
>Back at Central, a five car Exploder set EA? - EB? - EC2523 - EA2506
>(missing some side-skirt panels) - EC2526 sat in platform 1 and departed
>before us - is this the service that splits at Werris Creek?
Yes it is. The empties off the up Armidale/Moree train work from central
to the XPT centre at Sydenham (usually) in the evenings, then back to the
maint. depot at Eveleigh.
Out of interest, can you recall if the grafton XPT was 6 or 7 cars?. I
have noticed lately that most XPT sets are one carriage short. It must be
another planned maintenance period after school hols, etc. Can anyone
confirm/deny this ?.
Scott
