Re: Echuca sightings

Aus loco discussion mailing list

G'day all,

As previously posted over the weekend, 9083 (Melb - Deniliquin) goods was around 24 hrs late into Echuca and arrived Sat. rather than Fri. Cause was a derailment in Melb! Locos were G514 + X class as usual.
Whilst the derailment in Melb that affected 9083 's progress was being re-railed, here in Echuca, X39 did the same and fell into the dirt at the Rice mill weighbridge.
An awkward place to resurrect the situation too, as the weighbridge is located inside a covered annex adjacent to the Mill. It took most of Sat. to get X39 back on track - with the help of a large road crane. Inspection revealed no damage of any consequence and it was seen "yum yum yumming" around Echuca yard on Sunday.
No Moulamein job has run this morning...
See ya   AH
