I agree with Trevor on this one. Ausloco is not the place for criticism of any railway preservation group. That sort of discussion is not welcome here. Thank you for pointing this out, everyone please take note.

My apologies to the mailing list for a flame war, but as I did not start it
I would beg the indulgence of the list administrator to allow me to reply to
the mindless crap that a couple of correspondents are spreading...

<< Not quite scrap, it went to Dorrigo. >>

< Same thing isn't it? >

X204 was purchased and transported to Dorrigo late last year. Since its
arrival, it has had a new set of windows installed (all were smashed) and
various other jobs have been undertaken to weatherproof it. The missing
parts have been identified, and we have replacement parts available, so the
locomotive will be complete. It is now on one of the storage sidings on the
earthworks site to the west of Dorrigo yard. It is between X102 and X214.

As usual, some people who have no idea of what is happening have found some
purile amusment in denegrating the efforts of others. Instead of seeking
information on what we are doing, they delight in rumour and mudslinging. My
usual reply is to challenge them to identify just one piece of rolling stock
at Dorrigo that has significantly deteriorated while in our care. We do have
a couple of problem cases (amoung a collection of hundreds), but because
they are totally ignorant of what is happening they usually respond with
more mindless generalisations and further insults.

If you want information on Dorrigo ask.  If you resort to insults, you can
expect a hostile response.
