Clyde Yard 26/4/00

While travelling about today, Clyde Yard was bereft of locomotive life, 
with the exception of 4876 as the shunter (i imagine) and sitting over in 
the distance was the forlorn HTV 2000. Does the latter still technically 
counted as a 'locomotive' ?. I believe HTV2000 was two 47 class 'cut and 
shut' together to make the twin cab look. Is that true ?.
