From what I understand the reason for cancelling
these services was because of the condition of the carriages.These carriages
were only given a lick and a promise overhaul for a temporary trial of the
services. They are now in need of a good overhaul again and Countrylink does not
seem to be prepared to spend the money necessary.
Instead the new arrangement for the Broken Hill
service will stand and somewhere in the future there will be a rearrangement of
the Moree/ Armidale Xplorer services on a weekend to free an Xplorer set to run
the Griffith service.
