I heard a rumour tonight that NRC is behind on the
limestone contract to the steel works.
One solution I've heard is to increase train
lengths, but that places restrictions on train operations between Moss Vale and
Unanderra (also increases costs with extra horse power up front and increased
rail access charges), the second solution that the Steel Works are rumoured to
be looking at is to contract Freightcorp to run one train a day from Medway to
Cringilla and then penalise NRC for not keeping to the terms of the contract.
(Remember this is only a rumour heard through the
SRA grapevine, so believe it at your own risk)
