Ex Westrail EE loco R1902 to run again

Aus loco discussion mailing list

As posted on Aus.rail, ex Westrail English Electric R1902, which is
located at the Cohuna Wildlife Park on a length of track, will be leased
to Hotham Valley for an unspecified period of time.

I believe 1902 (in Westrail orange livery) is reasonably runnable and
should require little work before re-entering service for HVR. ARHS(WA)
have a rather derelict RA1918 at the Rail Transport Museum should it
require any parts which I am sure they would be happy to donate as they
are no longer interested in running ex Westrail locos.

This will certainly add spectacle to an otherwise boring preserved
diesel railscene in WA with only G50, C1701/2 and XA1401 (all in HVTR
care) currently likely to operate on the mainline.

Cheers

John
