Aus loco discussion mailing list
Further to Steve Dalton's message, I heard from our roving Melbourne
correspondent (Geoff Hann)who was in full pursuit mode at the time chasing the
two GM's.
I thought the quarry is called Bung Bong. Geoff reported that the GM's were
through Avoca yesterday with the loaded ballast train about 4pm. There are
some nice gradients on this section of line for the "lusty chant" devotees.
A contact at GNRS is providing some details of future running plans , which I
will relay later. I can confirm that the ballasts will not be running over the
Easter holiday period. Unfortunate, as they would have provided some diversion
from double 38's!
That reminds me, Mexican Ausloco-er's beware, as Messrs Hogan and Lucas will
be invading your sacred territory over Easter. You have been warned!
Regards,
Paul
